RPG pLAYING RULES

Many of you who visit this page have heard of us, and even more have participated in our RPs. We want to start by saying thank you to you all, and we hope you participate in our future RPs. Before we get caught up babbling about ourselves, let's take care of the main reason why you're here... rules. Wait, wait, wait!! Don't go yet! Before, our rules were passed around by word of mouth, and that worked for a while, but with Beseen shutting down and all the new Chats opening, it's getting a little hard to comply with everyone else's rules... especially with our RPs. Simple problem, simple solution. Here are the official RPGM rules. These rules will be applied to any RP that we create and will affect every character involved in our RPs.

1) Thou Shall die. No one in our RPs is immortal. If by some chance that there is some type of creature that cannot die, we will be sure to give you a hint on how to seal it.

2) Thou does not need permission. The actions people make in an RP shouldn't have to be discussed with the other RPer OOC. We find it very annoying and unprofessional when one character asks another "Can I kidnap your char?" If, as an RPer, you wish to do something to another person's character, do not ask permission, just do it, or attempt it. Whether the other person goes along with it or not is up to them.

3) OOC And IC. We're not going to bitch at people for talking ooc. We only asked that you do not use information obtained OOC IC.

4) Don't Bitch. We all know that it's "the survival of the fittest" and not "the survival of the one who can complain the most." If you challenge another RPer and you're out of your league, accept your fate graciously. Don't start to bitch and whine when they kick your ass.

5) Expect the unexpected. You've heard this before. RPs are NOT PLANNED piece by piece. The RP is put into play and all obstacles and troubles are welcome to butt in. You as an RPer should be able to deal with practically anything that comes in your path. You don't stop an RP just because someone showed up and you didn't -plan- for them to. Ignoring players' characters because of OOC disputes is also considered unprofessional.

6) Cheapness is a pain. Cheapness is a pain in the ass for all who have to read and RP around it. By cheapness we mean popping in and out of danger. Nothing is more annoying than working on finishing off your enemy and he/she just poofs away right before the finishing move, or fighting off 20 people to kidnap one person then someone pops in grabs 'em and pops out. We'll have none of that. If you're being killed and you're not ready to meet your maker, run away. If someone kidnapped your brother/sister/son/daughter/wife/husband/aunt/uncle/cousin/nephew/niece/or by God your favorite blanket, go get it and make a reasonable escape with it.

7) You are a fighter as well as a victim. You might think that you're untouchable but we would be happy to give you a very long trial to prove that. If you want the title and the glory of being "that damn good" then you should earn it the hard way but as prey and as predator.

8) All powerful? Not. Too many RPs have been destroyed by All Powerful characters, so we, as a group of RPers will have none of them. Make your characters with a set ability and don't invent new powers for that characters just because it will save your ass.

9) Fighting. We take the manner in which someone conducts themselves during a fight very seriously due to the fact that most of our RPs end in one final fight to determine the outcome. We don't guarantee that a character involved in our RP will come out alive and we don't guarantee that the good guys will always win. The side you choose is up to you.

10) Realism. We know that this is just a RP but really? If there is a monster, don't assume to become all mighty and kill it all on your own. The reason it is a monster and thus a villain is so that you can come together to destroy it. When we have one person killing and destroying everything with oh so powerful moves, then it becomes pointless to make villans. Treat the actions in a RP with a shred of realism.
